About Sindh High Court

The Sindh High Court is the highest entity for criminal and civil cases for Sindh Province in Pakistan. It was made back in 1866 as a Sadar Court for Sindh Province in which Judicial Commissioner took the appeal from the ordinary people and gave out the order. Later through the amendment in the Bombay Act by Sindh Court Act in 1906, Saar Court was changed into Court of Sindh that contains two to three judges additional to JC. After the separation of the province in 1935, the judges were appointed by the British Government. The primary seat of the SHC is at Karachi while the Bench is in Sukkar, and Larkana and Hyderabad contain the Circuit Court. The judge can hold the seat until sixty-two years of age. The current Chief Justice and the 23rd CJ is Ahmed Ali Sheikh and was appointed on March 15, 2017.
